Here are a selection of submissions made regarding LGB and women’s rights in regard of proposed NSW Conversion Practices legislation.

AF4WR – Australian Feminists for Women’s Rights

Australian Feminists for Women’s Rights (AF4WR) is a collective of feminists from all over Australia campaigning for women’s sex-based rights protections. Explicitly left-wing but not aligned to any political party, AF4WR came together to provide information, analysis and advocacy on women’s and girls’ rights in the face of the imposition of the ideology of gender.

AF4WR’s submission to the NSW government in response to its consultation paper on conversion therapy bans, August 2023.

CoAL – Coalition of Activist Lesbians

The Coalition of Activist Lesbians (COAL) Inc was formed in Australia in 1994 to work towards the end of discrimination against lesbians. CoAL was the first lesbian NGO (non-government organisation) to gain UN accreditation. We work with the UN Convention to Eliminate All forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW). CoAL was active at the Fourth World Conference convened by the United Nations in Beijing in 1995.

Our capacity to take on casework is limited but we provide information and targeted referral to many women and organisations. Our principal solicitor has worked as a lawyer for over 25 years across a range of free legal services, largely within the community sector. We meet within an informal and family friendly environment with flexible hours.
